Emerging Parent Stories
The journey into parenthood is a time of many births. There is an emergence of babies, parents, families, and communities.
These births can be beautiful. They can also be raw, heartbreaking, and everything in between. This emergence is a profound experience for everyone involved. It is an emotional and physical experience surrounded by layers of spiritual and societal nuance.
Birth has many outcomes. All of them should be acknowledged. Experience is relative. One person’s “dream birth” could be another person’s nightmare. All experiences are valid, even if others refuse to validate them.
We are capable of feeling many emotions at one time. Grief and joy are irrevocably intermingled, and both should be celebrated.
Our stories are our own…to tell, to share, and to rewrite. The moment of birth is only part of the story.
